Nous organiserons les 20 et 21 avril 2007, pour la première fois à Monaco sur le site du Grimaldi-Forum et en association avec le Congrès “4M-International-Tête et Cou”, un congrès international où l’ophtalmologie sera abordée sous ses multiples facettes.
Ainsi, les “19emes journées de chirurgie orbito-lacrymo-palpébrale” seront consacrées
à “l’esthétique des paupières et du tiers moyen de la face”, avec une session de chirurgie en direct, sous l’égide du service d’ophtalmologie du CHU de Nice (P. Gastaud), et de la Société Française de Chirurgie Oculo-Plastique (S. Morax) ; en partenariat avec la Société Française de Chirurgie Plastique et Esthétique de la Face et du cou SFCPEFC (F. Disant) et la Société de Chirurgie Maxillo-Faciale (D. Goga) et en collaboration avec le service d’ophtalmologie de Hôpital Princesse Grâce de Monaco (F. Betis, Ph. Berros). La 4e Séance du “DIU de chirurgie orbito-lacrymo-palpébrale”, enseignement organisé conjointement par les Facultés de Médecine de Nice, Limoges, Reims et Nancy, avec la participation de la Fondation Rothschild débutera le 19 avril. à la Faculté de Médecine de Nice avec retransmission vidéo de la dissection anatomique à partir du Laboratoire d’Anatomie (F. De Peretti). Cette session sera ouverte le jeudi après midi aux participants inscrits au congrès de Monaco.
Les 20 et 21 avril, les sessions d’enseignement auront lieu au Forum-Grimaldi de Monaco où elles seront validantes pour les spécialistes inscrits aux DIU et tous les congressistes pourront y participer. Parallèlement, se déroulera le “Symposium International d’Ophtalmologie” sous la présidence de P. Gastaud, consacré à
l’ophtalmologie générale, aux segments antérieur et postérieur et à la chirurgie réfractive et une séance sur “Orbitopathie basedowienne” en collaboration avec les endocrinologues P. Fenichel et JL. Sadoul. Le samedi matin 21 avril aura lieu un Joint Meeting avec les dermatologues JP. Ortonne et JPh. Lacour sur le thème des “Tumeurs
cutanées du visage”. Ainsi, pour cette 19eme année, nous avons favorisé la multidisciplinarité qui, j’en suis sûr, permettra un enrichissement mutuel. Le site exceptionnel du Grimaldi Forum de Monaco devrait être propice à un séjour convivial. J’espère vous y accueillir nombreux pour ces journées d’avril 2007.

We are organizing for the 20th and 21st April 2007, for the first time in Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum and in association with the “4M International- Head and Neck”, an international conference where every aspect of ophthalmology will be discussed. This “19th session of orbito-lacrymo-blepharo surgery” will deal with “aesthetics of eyelids and the middle third of the face”. It will have special live surgery sessions and is run under the auspices of the following:
- Ophthalmology department of Nice University Hospital (P. Gastaud)
- Ophthalmology department of Monaco Princesse Grace Hospital (F. Betis, Ph. Beros)
- French Society of Oculoplastic surgery (S. Morax)
And it is in collaboration with the French Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (F. Disant) and the French Society of Maxillo-Facial Surgery (D. Goga).
The “4th course of the DIU of orbito-lacrymo-blepharo surgery”, teaching organized jointly by the faculty of medicine of Nice, Limoges, Reims and Nancy, with the participation of the Fondation Rothschild will begin on April 19th at the faculty of medicine of Nice with video-transmission of the cadaveric dissection from the Anatomy laboratory This session will be
available on Thursday afternoon to people attending the congress. The 20th and 21st April, the teaching sessions will be held at the Grimaldi Forum of Monaco where attendants of the congress are very welcome to come along.
At the same time, “the International Symposium of Ophthalmology” will be run by P. Gastaud (president) and will deal with general ophthalmology, anterior segment, posterior segment and refractive surgery and lens adaptation.
On Saturday 21st April, a joint meeting with dermatologists (JP. Ortonne and JPh. Lacour) about “Facial skin tumors” and Endocrinologists (P. Fenichel and JL. Sadoul) about “Thyroid orbitopathy and Grave disease” will take place. So, this 19th year has multidisciplinary themes that, I’m sure, will be appreciated. The Grimaldi Forum is in the fantastic city of Monaco where we will have a great stay. I’m looking forward to welcoming you all in April.
